Hey y'all. My name is Dusty Vassey. I'm a reporter, blogger, humorist, composer, song writer, cartoonist and general disaster of a human being from Irwinville, Georgia. I'm the staff writer for The Ocilla Star newspaper in Ocilla, Georgia, and one day, while debating my editor about some subject or other, I said, "I'm just trying to be rational" or some such. She responded, "I think you're rational to a fault."The blog is a place where I can post opinion pieces and humorous stories that are too long for the paper or have previously appeared in the paper. Many of the posts are also fact-filled opinion pieces or speculative reports about news stories, particularly the disappearance of Tara Grinstead, a famous mystery I've covered from the week she first went missing. I have been a regular guest on the podcast about the case, Up and Vanished, and I use the screen name ocillareporter on the UAV Discussion Board.
I'm also known around my hometown as the "Irwinvillain" after my song of the same name, and I have a channel of music videos on YouTube if you're tired of enjoying pleasant sounds.
